I checked!
As I lay there all sprawled out all over the floor at TGI Fridays earlier today, I thought to myself... "How nice! The floor is very clean"
You see, I had this coupon for a free meal at TGIF and so I took my daughters there for lunch. Turns out, the coupon expired yesterday so we could have gone to any restaurant but here we were. Our first trip to TGIF in 5 or 6 yrs. Anyway... we were seated at a table, not one of those sturdy booths, but a table with separate chairs. Apparently this isn't an issue for most people and I had no idea I was "chair challenged". I am.
We already ordered and were just waiting. Lexie was taking pictures of Libby who was "reading " the beer menu book. Gracie was coloring her placemat. I thought Libby needed something better to entertain herself than pictures of beer, so I lean over to reach into my diaper bag and I reached too deep in there. Reached beyond the limits. My chair slid right out from under me and flew sideways then hit the floor with a loud clatter! My body went flying out into the aisle, feet in the air, and I did a spread eagle belly flop onto the tile floor. Thud!
I drew a crowd. There were a bazillion legs all around me real fast. Everyone was saying "ARE YOU OK????" And I was thinking, "Oh thank God there wasn't a bunch of ketchup and crumbs all over the floor"
And that's how I know that the floors are clean at the Temecula TGI Fridays. Yes, indeed.
***Answers to your questions: No, Lexie did not get a photo. She regrets that her compassion overpowered her and she didn't think of taking a picture even though she had her camera in her hand. I, on the other hand, am relieved. No, they didn't comp my meal! I didn't even get a free desert!

Prince Charming was in the kitchen
I don't post much about my husband. He's fairly well behaved. But he was in MY kitchen last night!
I just spent a couple of hours cleaning up after him.
He made beer. His first batch of home brewed beer. It's going to be great! But, that man can sure make a mess. Last night he was bottling his brew. Bottling the beer involves... bottles mostly. Caps, crimper, buckets, lids, tubing, thermometers, long spoons, etc. After he was all done bottling I told him "You better rinse out your tube"
That sounded funny!
An hour later I said "Did you clean out your tube?"
I'm so easily amused!
When I went to bed just before midnight I said to the man.... "Clean your beer equipment or you'll ruin it and have to buy all that stuff all over again". There. I spoke to his wallet this time. Around 1:30am I woke up and heard water running and a lot of clanging and banging in the kitchen. Good, Prince Charming was cleaning his mess!
Oh my goodness is all I could say when I got up this morning. Sure, the tubing was clean, but everything else was half scrubbed, soaking in soapy water, scattered here and there, and just in general chaos. Good thing he went to work or I'd have to beat him with his beer spoon!
Not only that but he scrubbed the bottles in the bathtub. Oh yeah, there are labels in my bathtub along with extra bottles, a ring in the tub, beer boxes, bleach, scrub brushes.... and just in general sloppy messiness.
I know I should have just left it for him to take care of tonight, but I wanted some breakfast. So, I got to work and cleaned it all up and put away and made breakfast too. What a crazy mess! That beer better be good; I think I earned a couple of bottles.
Good thing he's so darn charming!

Cheetos for Breakfast
It's finally Friday and it has been a very busy week. This morning I woke up with a headache and sore throat. Not good for mommy!
This morning I offered my littlest princess oatmeal with raisins for breakfast and she said "no" and gave it "the hand". She went to the kitchen and pulls off the counter a bag of Cheetos, brings it to me and says "some some Beeeez!" Translated that means "I want some of this please". You know what, I don't feel good. I opened the Cheetos. She's happy and quiet. I'm ok with that!
Apparently, she doesn't have a sore throat too.
We've had such a busy week. I've been busy buying and selling college textbooks on half.com and ebay and amazon. Decided to sell my baby backpack carrier that I just had to have and I've never used it; I posted that on Craigslist.
Craigslist. Lemme tell ya, there are some idiots out there. And they all want to buy my baby backpack. One guy wanted to trade me for one item on his long list of crap.
Another person wanted me to deliver it 40 miles away.
Another person wants to know what it looks like - scroll down! I posted 4 photos!
Finally, I get someone who sounds reasonable and wants to buy it. Yay! Oh never mind, she just read what town I'm in and I'm really far away.
Who are these people? Don't they read the ad? Forget it! I'll keep it and hand it down to someone who has a baby and wants it. Someday.....
All my online bargaining has included trips to the UPS store to mail stuff, trips to Barnes & Noble to hunt for books and compare prices, trips to the college bookstores to hunt and compare. I think I'm winning the college book war with the bookstore though. I got my daughter a brand new Chemistry book for $59 and the bookstore sells it used for $101. That was my big score of the week!
Babycakes and I had a playdate with her new babysitter. That really went well and I feel great about the new sitter, her kidlets and how it'll go. It's going to be hard to go to college 4 days a week without my baby attached to me. I have separation anxiety just thinking about it! What a relief to have her with a trustworthy sitter. I am a natural worrier and I'll be doing enough worrying without that added stress of feeling uneasy or just not confident that I placed her in the best care. I'm so happy with this arrangement!
The teenager is back is school. It's been a struggle getting out of bed each morning for both of us, but we're doing it. I can't believe I took a wrong turn on Tuesday morning and got "lost" taking her to school. I say "lost" in quotes because I knew where I was. I did! Sorta. I just couldn't find my way back out of that neighborhood.
My husband has been calling me all week asking me to do little favors. Really?
But, I did do a few. We went to Home Depot and got him a turkey fryer that will never see a turkey. He's going to brew his own beer. He's pretty excited. I'm dreading the mess he will make and abandon. You know it'll happen. So he's been full of little favors that he needs done for him, like filling the propane tank so he can cook his beer. Just little favors like that.
Between chasing the toddler, dealing with craigslist responses, getting ready for a new college semester, starting high school for the 2nd half of the year, and getting ready to brew beer..... I've come to the point where I'm letting my toddler eat Cheetos for breakfast.
