Punxatawny Mom

Happy Birthday to my Mom! Our family "Groundhog"!

I called my mom this morning and asked her if she saw her shadow. She did! Six more weeks of winter.

I took took her out to the movie last night. We saw "Gran Torino" Clint Eastwoods newest movie. It was good, not your usual Eastwood movie.

Oh my goodness, I didn't know that your Mom's birthday was 2/2. My Mom's Birthday is 2/2 as well. It always' makes me giggle.

Ground Hog's Day always seems to me to be the beginning of Spring. Yeah, I know there is still snow on the ground but the roots seem to know that a change in season is on the horizon. Sometimes you get these awesome days that warm up and tease you with a glimpse of Springtime.

My mom probably would forget her own birthday if it wasn't on an actual holiday. She has a tendency to forget birthday's, literally. For years we celebrated my sister's birthday on the 21st of February. It wasn't until we got a copy of her birth certificate and discovered that her birthday was actually the 26th. We just laugh about it now. I always wonder how you could forget giving birth. Come on, that's a pretty big thing, all puns intended.

Hugs,
Beth
