I need to Specify!

I haven't seen my yellow rose bush bloom in a long long long time. Got two pretty blossoms on it this week! What a nice Christmas present!

Today, my 3 yr old asked me if she could pick the flowers. Our conversation went like this:

Gracie: Can I pick da flowers?
Me: No
Gracie: OK

Later....

Me: AAAAA! You picked my roses!
Gracie: You said No, I juss picked the peddals.
Me: Ah, yes, yes you did.

She just picked the petals. Not the flowers. One of these days, I shall learn.

Hee hee... I know I shouldn't laugh, but I kind of have to. Yep, you definitely need to learn to specify. Or to just speak toddler-ese :)

How easy it is to forget how the mind of a 3 year old works. I had to laugh and hoping your yellow roses bloom again soon.

I'm laughing, because that look on her face says it all. What is she, three? And we're already into the semantics. Smart cookie, she is. Watch out for that one, Mary. lol
